Diablo 3 PTR Patch 2.4.0 Brief Insights and a Quick Overview

Expanded Zones, Greyhollow Island, Season Rebirth OH MY! With the upcoming huge patch for Diablo 3, I thought it appropriate to briefly cover some of the things I found to stick out when reading the patch notes.

Greyhollow Island:

It's not normal at all for developers to still be releasing patches and an abundance of fresh content for both seasoned and new players alike, yet here we are. A major kudos to Blizzard Entertainment for continuing to bring new and exciting content to their fans. This zone, as I read, is intended to be of a 'man vs nature' feel, or something akin to being lost in the woods alone at night, and based off of the video, they couldn't have pulled it off any better.

Expanded Zones: Two fully explorable additions will be added to already existing zones, and will include new bounties and events. The Eternal Woods feature the home of a fierce yeti. As well, Leoric's Manor will be adding the Royal Quarters for those curious and brave enough to explore.

Season Rebirth: This new option will allow players to instantly transform a non seasonal hero to a brand new level 1 seasonal hero. Name, as well as hours played will be maintained, and all gear will be stripped and mailed to you in the non season with up to 30 days to reclaim the mailed gear. Paragon levels, completed achievments, and some other accomplishments will also remain behind with your non seasonal heroes. That's all for now, lest I end up spending the next few hours here! As always, Good Luck, Have Fun!

Free Champion Rotation

Ever wanted to try out a new champion but didn't have the RP or IP? Thankfully we have the weekly free champion rotation. This week features a robust and variety packed selection including:

Marksman: Corki - the Daring Bombardier, and Quinn - Demacia's Wings.

Fighter: Illaoi - the Kraken Priestess, Skarner - the Crystal Vanguard, and Warwick - the Blood Hunter.

Mage: Lissandra - the Ice Witch, and Morgana - Fallen Angel.

Tank: Singed - the Mad Chemist

Assassin: Zed - the Master of Shadows

Support: Taric - the Gem Knight

Personally, I would have loved to see another tank as well as support, but I suppose due to the fact that there are plenty of cheap supports and tanks available, I suppose Riot is still subtly hinting that they want people to purchase them with either IP or RP. I actually just bought Taric yesterday for my alternate account and so far, I've been quite impressed with his kit.

League of Legends Pro teleports to his own death not once but twice.

One of the best things about this past weekends League of Legends All-Star Event was the 1v1 tournament between Froggen and Doublelift. Having recently spoken about Doublelift in my most recent audio feature, I was thrilled to see that he would be featured in the 1v1. Doublelift had locked in the ADC Twitch, and Froggen locked in Olaf.
Doublelift was up 1-0, and was recalling back to his base, when Froggen threw out a snowball with the ability called Mark. If the snowball hits, and you press the Mark key again you will instantly teleport to the player that you hit. Well, NORMALLY you just teleport to the player and combat begins. However, Doublelift had just gotten his recall off, and right at that instant, Froggen teleported to Doublelift, and consequently into Doublelifts base and instant death. Darius, the celebrated underdog.

One of the biggest things competitive video game players love seeing is a massive upset. Whether it's an expected sub par play turning out to be a major game changer, or when a professional takes an average champion and makes plays no one thought possible. That's exactly what has been happening with Darius at this year's Worlds tournament. Let me know what you think about Darius and his performance this year at Worlds and as always, Good Luck Have Fun!

Free Champion Rotation!

This weeks free champion rotation is up, let's see who we've been granted.

Marksmen: Ezreal and Graves.
Assassins: Akali.
Mages: Azir and Kennen.
Fighters: Trundle and Xin Zhao.
Support: Sona and Zilean.
Tank: Cho'Gath.

Well it looks like we have a diverse crowd being offered free to play this week. My old favorite, Sona has returned to the free to play zone as well. Hopefully this means that some more players will pick her up as a favorite champion. (So we don't all die of old age waiting on support to queue) That's all for now but let me know who you'll be playing this week and as always, Good Luck Have Fun!

Diablo 3: Bountiful Bounties-- Double Cache Rewards This Weekend Only!

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better! Starting this Friday, Sept. 25, at 12:01 a.m. every bounty that you complete will reward you with double caches! This applies to BOTH Horadric and Bonus caches, so get ready to put your grind pants on!

With the addition of Kanai's Cube, crafting mats are back on the menu of useful things to have an abundance of, and what better way to grind those mats out than this weekend! Be sure to grab your friends, repair your armor, and get grinding because double caches also means an increased drop rate for those pesky legendary items such as the popular Ring of Royal Grandeur, but hurry because this event also ends this Sunday, September 27th at 11:59 p.m. PDT. What materials will you be grinding? Tell us in the comments below and as always, Good Luck Have Fun!

New Champion Kindred: The Eternal Hunters Revealed!

From the Official Champion Reveal

Who ever thought a wolf and a sheep could work so well together?! Apparently Riot seems to think so, with the revealing of their newest Jungle Marksman champion, Kindred! Kindred is one champion comprised of two entities, Lamb and Wolf. Some of you are thinking, 'a Marksman Jungler, what was Riot thinking?', and I had slightly similar thoughts as well, but having the immense amount of faith in Riot that I do, I feel pretty reassured that they're going to more than accomplish this odd yet tantalizingly interesting move.
Alright! On to the champion breakdown!

Passive: Mark of the Kindred - Lamb marks an enemy champion for death - anywhere on the map (provided they have vision of that champion) - if Kindred is able to either kill that champion or at the least get an assist, they will then gain a permanent damage boost to their basic attacks. This stacks. Last but not least, Wolf hungers for enemy jungle monsters as well, so feed the beast! A marked champion is visible to all champions.

Q: Dance of Arrows - Kindred dashes a short distance, and then opens fire on three nearby enemies.

W: Wolf's Frenzy
Passive: Kindred will build stacks of Hunter's Vigor the more they move around and once Kindred has reached max stacks, their next basic attack steals a base amount of health from its target.
Active: Wolf splits from Lamb, temporarily creating a large spirit zone around him, and attacking his closest enemy, or whoever Lamb is attacking. While inside Wolf's Frenzy, Dance of Arrows has a greatly reduced cooldown for Lamb.

E: Mounting Dread - Kindred slows an enemy target, and if Kindred is able to successfully land three attacks on their target within the duration, the target takes an amount of max health percent damage.

R: Lamb's Respite - Kindred temporarily creates a large zone at a targeted location. While active, Lamb's Respite prevents ALL units within the zone from dropping below critical levels of health. At the end of the duration, all champions in the zone are healed for a flat amount of health.

Wow! This champion seems to be packed with versatility that will surely be felt when it becomes available! This is a bold move for Riot, introducing a marksman oriented jungle champion, but after checking out these awesome new abilities, I'm feeling pretty confident that Kindred will make a great first and lasting impression on the Fields of Justice! That's all for today, feel free to leave a comment below, stay tuned and as always, Good Luck Have Fun!

They are coming. Listen to their tale.

Is death coming for us all? With the new release of Riot’s ‘They Are Coming. Listen To Their Tale’ video, the forums are blowing up with fan speculation as to what this less than 30 second teaser video really means. Is it is in fact a brand new death related champion, or possibly a new character able to transform from one aspect to the other. Stay tuned for updates on this mystery champ and as always, Good Luck Have Fun!
